The only way to incorporate AdSense unit within New Blogger posts is to put the script in the template.
This theoretically will display an ad unit in EVERY posts, but AdSense
allows only 3 ad units maximum and somehow suppresses the extra if, for
example, you have 7 posts in the main (index or home) page. Thus only
the first 3 posts will display the ad units while the rest is supposed
to have nothing where there should be ad unit (this was my experience
with the old Blogger and I think also the New Blogger). If you have ad
units elsewhere link the the sidebar or the footer, which one get
displayed should depend on how the template is structured, but I have
observed that this is not completely true. I have checked with AdSense Support (click BACK button to get back to this page) if we are violating their policy and the response was no.
However, I was alerted to the presence of empty space where the ads are suppressed (first time I came across it) by ChampDog who gave a link to AdSense Unit Displays Empty Blank Space and gave a link to one of my blogs The easiest way to earn something for your blogging efforts and sure enough, I saw a similar blank space in one of my posts.

Update 16 October 2007: The first support staff who responded gave irrelevant answers. I replied and request the query be forwarded to someone familiar with Blogger. 2 other people replied, the last one who specialised in Blogger said they are currently working on the problem. Let's hope they don't take too long.
